IF---Seed

"Growth of an Idea"
approx 8.5 x 5.5 inches.
Collage on a portion of a recycled bubble envelope,
mounted a scrap of hardboard paneling

I haven't made anything in my studio since Bluto died. I never thought it would affect me this way. He would usually sleep near my worktable, now he isn't there. I 'm still rearranging the studio, so most of my stuff is boxed. I did work on a few things the last couple days on the kitchen table. I made 12 chunky book pages for two swaps. (I'll post about later) I finally made something to participate in Illustration Friday. It has been a while, I needed this.

"No Willpower" --- painted paper collage on 11x 17 canvas board

I admit, I am an emotional eater....but not quite to this extent.
*grins*

I haven't used canvas board since high school. I found a pack of three while cleaning and rearranging my studio. I wonder where they cam from???

IF- Heavy

"Heavy" collage on cigar box lid

Heavy...ok so I chose the literal interpretation. I just read a trilogy of books my 10 yr-old recommended called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Fun books for the 10 to 12 set.

I must have Greek Myths on the brain, an image popped into my head of Atlas holding up the earth. I know the story he's holding up the heavens, but he's always drawn holding the earth isn't he? Either way, a good example of carrying a heavy load.

I see being a parent is similar, we carry so much on our shoulders.

Oh and the egg is cut from a book on tax law. I think this page was talking about corporate capital gains. That's heavy or maybe just boring!!! *grins*

Spring Ahead? (IF theme GARDEN)

This week is my first Illustration Friday submission. I often check out each weeks submissions, follow the links, gazing at the beautiful and inspiring artwork. I decided to give it a try and put myself out there. This idea had been floating around in my brain for a while. I guess it was waiting...

Could it be? spring??? Not in Wisconsin! Not yet. We get a few days of warmer weather (YES!) then we get snow in May. Yes, last year we had snow in May!
