My new booth

I'm finally blogging about my weekend in Door County. Believe it or not, we fit all my artwork, tent, display, and the family in my van. Wow! 

Saturday was beautiful. My new tent and booth display worked very well. I thought it looked really nice. My next sale I will add one more row of artwork below what is shown. Or maybe not, too cluttered looking????

The weather cooperated but I think the economy has really affected my sales! At least I hope it is the economy and not my art *wry grins* Lots of people were walking around, but not many were buying...from anyone. I think a few artists, who were selling smaller dollar items, did well. I sold a bunch of little things, but not much else. So financially the weekend was a bust. Though I met lots of nice people and I will go back next year. I highly recommend the Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair for other artists. It is advertised very well, well organized, and they take good care of us artists. 

This time Mike and the kids came with me. They had a lot of fun! There are tons of things to do up there. They went to The Farm and held and fed baby animals. Then on to Cave Point County park and climbed around on the rocks. They fished, but didn't catch anything. They spent most of their time Sunday at Sunset Park, where I was set up. They climbed on the rocks, played with drift wood, hunted for sea glass, shells, and crab claws. 

Sunday morning it started raining. I was so glad I bought the universal wall for my tent. I can roll up the center 4 feet. 
This photo was taken just before I rolled the wall back up. When it was raining, my door worked perfect! The day stayed cool and very windy but still not too bad. All in all a nice weekend I just wish I sold more :-(     

Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair 2008

Hello! 

I just love my lilacs, I wanted to show them off *grins* Best looking plants in my yard at the moment. I have a lot of yard work to catch up on. Too many weeds! 

Please come and visit me in Sturgeon Bay this weekend. The Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair will be in Sunset park Saturday and Sunday. This is a beautiful park to host an art fair.

I haven't made anything in my studio since Bluto died. I never thought it would affect me this way. He would usually sleep near my worktable, now he isn't there. I 'm still rearranging the studio, so most of my stuff is boxed. I did work on a few things the last couple days on the kitchen table. I made 12 chunky book pages for two swaps. (I'll post about later) I finally made something to participate in Illustration Friday. It has been a while, I needed this.

New Booth Sign

I knew I needed something bigger and more colorful for my art fair booth. A few  Sundays ago, when it was actually nice and warm, I painted this. Bound to grab some attention *grins* The sign looked really nice at Craftstravaganza. It's slid onto an old yardstick with s hooks and chain attaching it to the top of the wall.

I made this last month and I just wanted to share this collage. I love the way it turned out. 

I painted on it more than the others.  I may have to keep this one! 

A Peek at the Process

I made this a while ago but wanted to show you a bit of before, during, and after.

This design was going to be (and still might) an 8x 10 collage on a box. I had this wood frame I had previously covered in paper, so I just adapted the design.

Look at my messy floor! This was made upstairs at my dining table. After a full day of art, 

I had a mess to clean up before dinner.

All done!   Sold at Craftstravaganza too...very cool!
